Zindagi naa milegi dobara..!!!

ZINDAGI NAA MILEGI DOBARA

When we were kids, people used to ask: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" and out came the wildest replies from our mouth, someday we would want to become a pilot, some day a policeman, a firefighter, a teacher, an astronaut and what not..!!!! our imagination and desires were free to run in every possible direction and we had the best dreams in our best deep sleeps.

Then when we reached the first important phase of life i.e. 10th board exams we put up fences around our dreams and it curtailed down to "streams" and we focused on which stream to take, whether commerce, science or arts. But yes....we still dreamt of becoming a cricketer or a footballer or a teacher, we wanted to earn our name in the championship in some tournaments or competitions...but yes, we still dreamt and we had the best dreams in our best deep sleeps.

Then we reached the second important phase of life i.e. the 12th standard board exams and by then we realized that world wasn't that easy to live in and we started dreaming of scoring in exams. We entered a race of securing more marks. Studying till late hours, borrowing notes, going to classes that's what life was.But yes....again...we still dreamt of scoring good marks, getting admission in our preferred college...but yeah we still dreamt and we had dreams in our exhausted sleeps.

Then came the phase of college and by then we realized the world out there is cruel and everybody out there is looking for an opportunity to kick us out.Parents started advising what to do and what not to do and that's not enough in India. In India we are more worried about "What SHARMAJI will say"....or....."look at GUPTAJI's son" and the worst was yet to come...if we wanted to pursue our wildest of the dream which was not certified by parents or Sharmaji or Guptaji...then came the universal statement."WHAT WILL SOCIETY THINK AND SAY"..And for the sake of  parents, Sharmaji, Guptaji and the society we killed the child inside us who had the courage of having the wildest dreams and we squashed our dreams. We killed the pilot, policeman, firefighter and the astronaut inside us.

We got scared from the blood curdling competition in the market and gave in to the competitive pressure surrounding us.We sacrificed everything just to be a part of it. We started thinking only about work and promotions and earning. And we started having sleepless nights. We stopped taking decisions and relied more on decisions of parents, Sharmaji, Guptaji and society.

And suddenly we get to see that their opinions start popping up in all important matters of life and we feel as if, it is the society's life that has been leased to us to live on 'their' terms. We feel caged and feel like putting our thoughts and living the life we wanted to live at some point of our life.

And just as life passes by there comes a day in everybody's life when the dead child with the wildest dreams rises again but this time with confidence and determination. We realize that its never too late to start living our OWN life on our OWN terms and doing what WE wanted to do without submitting ourselves to the demands of parents and society.

Dear readers, the purpose of my blog on this topic is to highlight the fact that 'We take birth as humans once and we fear to live it as per our choice'. "What society will say"...these four words have ruined more dreams and careers than anything else in our country. So now it is time for us to have the strength to stand up against the society and say: "Enough is enough...!!!, its MY LIFE & I choose to live it MY WAY..!! and also because, all that we have is one shot and you never know.."ZINDAGI NAA MILEGI DOBARA..!!!"

Value of Mankind

THE VALUE OF MANKIND:

Recently, while hanging out with my friends I noticed a boy of around 17 years of age alight from a chauffeur driven car, the driver was of the age of his grandfather and after getting off from the car the boy ordered him to park it somewhere and join him to carry his bags. After a few minutes he returned with a friend of his and the old driver walking behind him laden with bags. The friend of his, was elder to him and he was referring as "bhaiya."

The point which draws attention from this instance is that, just because the chauffeur was poor and was hired by the boy he didn't deserve any respect and that elder friend of his who was of his status got addressed with respect. The question that arises is: Is the value and importance of a person decided from his financial worth?

We have to make the upcoming generation understand that a person is not to be treated as per his financial worth or the possessions he has. Every human being be it young or old must be treated with love and respect because no body remembers you for the wealth you possess but for the way you treat them.

When a child is born he deserves love, care and respect from his parents, a woman deserves love and respect from her husband and child, An elderly deserves respect from his child and people around him. So irrespective of age and gender, we as humans seek, expect and deserve to be treated well. The treatment to a person works as per newton's third law of motion, the way you treat and value a person the same way you will be treated back.

Is valuing somebody with love and respect so costly that the mankind can't afford it nowadays? The problem that we face today is our modern mentality: We try to impress people by showering tangible goods and gifts and we try to show how much we care for them but on the other hand what the person really desires are the intangible qualities like love and care and to spend time.

But again....... all can't afford it...!!!!
